Last night, May 6, was a crazy Monday. Yes, you read that right a Monday night. Bucks playoff game, Brewer regular season game, and the most important thing I will ever right about on this blog, the Met Gala.
For those of you who are wondering what the heck is the Met Gala, let me catch you up. The Met Gala is an annual fundraising gala for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute in New York City It marks the opening of the Costume Institute's annual fashion exhibit. Each year's event celebrates the theme of that year's Costume Institute exhibition, and the exhibition sets the tone for the formal dress of the night, since guests are expected to choose their fashion to match the theme of the exhibit.
The Met Gala was established in 1948 as a way to raise money for the newly-founded Costume Institute and mark the opening of its annual exhibit. The first Gala was a midnight dinner and tickets were fifty dollars each. Since the time former Vogue editor-in-chief Diana Vreeland died in 1989, the Met Gala has been known as a luxurious event and is considered "the jewel in New York City's social crown."
The Gala is widely regarded as among the most prominent and most exclusive social events in the world. It is also one of the biggest fundraising nights in New York City. The 2019 Gala raised a record breaking $15 million.
How does the Met Gala have anything to do with the Brewers and the Bucks? Well last Monday they all happened to fall at the exact same time. So just incase you find yourself in the same situation I thought I would shared some tips that helped me stay on top of all three events.
3 Tips to Watch 3 Events at the Same Time:
1. Charge up your phone. You know you're going to be watching one event on your phone
2. Forgo your seats. Standing will give you the best opportunity to stay on top of all the events. You can watch the Brewer game while standing in the hall watching the Bucks game on the TV.
3. Check your Twitter feeds. If you aren't in front of the live game, TV, or the live stream on your phone is slow you can always check Twitter to stay update on coverage.
I hope the world blesses us with this much fun in one night again next year!
xx,
Hailey
